This means [...] Friday night, Gus started bowling for the winter in a special needs league. I was pretty shocked at the sheer number of people – roughly a hundred from about ages 6-21. He had a wonderful time while he lasted. There were four members listed on his team, but only three showed up. Aside from [...] This has been a very up and down weekend. On one hand, Gus has been having meltdowns on and off, but on the other hand, he’s had a couple of pretty cool things as well. Yesterday was picture day for the soccer league. Gus and MM each had to take pictures with their teams and then [...] I try not to blog about myself too much because this is an autism blog. But my thankfulness sometimes has to extend beyond the scope of autism, and why shouldn’t it? Autism is a part of our lives, but it’s not the end-all of our existence, right? Anyway, my thankfulness today: 1. I am thankful [...] I’ve gone far beyond the weekend, but it was so busy, this is the first chance I’ve had to update, and I’ll have to be quick or there will be two hungry children gnawing on my kneecaps pretty soon. Saturday we had a beautiful morning for soccer. Gus was a little sluggish because it’s allergy season [...] We went for a bike ride with the kids Saturday morning, and I gave some thought to the process we use when riding with him to keep him from accidentally harming himself or anyone else. Gus has the balance to ride a two-wheeler, but at this point, he’s still a dangerous cyclist. Because he [...] Yesterday I got to take Gus to his soccer game! It was awesome, in large part because we had an almost 90 degree day yesterday, so in the morning, the temperature was perfect for hanging out watching a game.
