Towel in toilet. Kid in the washing machine. Why did I get up? And amidst all this chaos (there’s been much more; those were just the two highlights) Gus just gives me the biggest grin. I can’t help but laugh. After brushing his teeth, he looks for a towel to dry his hands and [...] Gus likes to sing. Gus is not always aware that other people can hear him. Just now, he was in the bathroom singing, in his best imitation of Pavarotti, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” After a very long sustained note, I tapped the door open and gave him an enthusiastic round of applause. Fortunately, he [...] My son often says funny things, and occasionally I just have to write them down. We were having some trouble with the software we use for his math homework. The screen keeps freezing up when he finishes one particular assignment, preventing him from moving on the the next assignment. So to keep him from getting frustrated, I [...] Yup, I played hooky yesterday. Granted, I only have to answer to myself when nothing gets done around here, but I can be quite a pain to work for. At any rate, I’m glad I did take the day because today has already been non-stop. But I’m taking a short break to show the Universe some [...] Gus has a few loose teeth, but there was one that was sticking out and was clearly ready to come out. When it finally got to the point of hanging by a threadlike piece of skin, even he wanted it out lest he accidentally swallow it. There was a sort of approach-avoidance thing happening.
