Good morning! Gus is my assistant for today and we’ve recorded a Thursday Thankfulness post. But since our recording only includes his Thankfulness, I’ll write my brief list. This week I am thankful for: two awesome kids who have beautiful personalities. The hill Gus has named Mount Deathfall After the past few snowstorms of late managed to miss us, we were starting to wonder if we were going to get another good snow. Well, we got it today! I took the kids out this afternoon, and we all had a blast. First, I have to point out that [...] Today was a sort of surprise snow day. The buses were already on their runs when first a delay and then a school closing enacted. Luckily, I had gotten a call from Gus’s bus driver to tell me that the roads were bad. I decided then to keep both kids home despite whatever the schools decided. Since [...] It’s only the first day of Gus’s true summer vacation. He could have slept in, but chose to get up at five instead – didn’t want to waste the day! He and MM started playing on the GameCube first thing, but by eight it was clear that I needed to put a stop to [...] Our summer schedule, or rather lack of schedule, makes it very hard for me to keep track of days. Add in an early week camping trip instead of a weekend trip along with a holiday weekend – I’m all jumbled. I actually forgot that yesterday was Thursday! My thanks: I am thankful that I finally got [...] This week has gone by so fast, I didn’t even realize it was Thursday! It’s late and I just got back from a bike ride, so I’ll have to be brief. This week I am thankful for: Finishing my first ride with the cycling club! I did the whole 17 miles and only had to walk [...] The kids had off today for the holiday weekend, and I was a little worried about what we’d do because it was supposed to be very hot today. We started our day with french toast, which they’d earned by getting dressed with a minimum of fuss (Gus didn’t even need to be asked today). [...] |
